چکیده

Context. Massive stars are powerful cosmic engines that have a huge impact on their surroundings and host galaxies. The majority of massive will interact with companion star during evolution. effects this interaction end-of-life products currently poorly constrained. In the phases immediately preceding core-collapse, in Galaxy Mi ≳ 20 M⊙ may appear as classical Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars. multiplicity properties WR population thus required to further our understanding stellar evolution at upper-mass end.

A near–infrared survey for Galactic Wolf-Rayet stars

Initial results, techniques, and rationale for a near–infrared survey of evolved emission–line stars toward the Galactic Center are presented. We use images taken through narrow-band emission–line and continuum filters to select candidates for spectroscopic follow–up. The filters are optimized for the detection of Wolf-Rayet stars and other objects which exhibit emission–lines in the 2 μm regio...

Searching for hidden Wolf-Rayet stars in the Galactic Plane – 15 new Wolf-Rayet stars

We report the discovery of fifteen previously unknown Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars found as part of an infrared broad-band study of candidate WR stars in the Galaxy. We have derived an empirically-based selection algorithm which has selected ∼5000 WR candidate stars located within the Galactic Plane drawn from the GLIMPSE (midinfrared) and 2MASS (near-infrared) catalogues. Spectroscopic follow-up of 1...

The nitrogen spectra of Wolf-Rayet stars A grid of models and its application to the Galactic WN sample

Adopting the “standard model” for Wolf-Rayet atmospheres, non-LTE radiation transfer calculations are performed which account for helium and nitrogen. Grids of theoretical models are presented for the whole relevant parameter range. The WN classification criteria are employed in order to identify the subtype domains, and inconsistencies are discussed. The (almost complete) sample of known Galac...

The Neon Abundance of Galactic Wolf–rayet Stars

The fast, dense winds which characterize Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars obscure their underlying cores, and complicate the verification of evolving core and nucleosynthesis models. Core evolution can be probed by measuring abundances of wind-borne nuclear processed elements, partially overcoming this limitation. Using ground-based mid-infrared spectroscopy and the 12.81μm [Ne ii] emission line measured ...

Galactic Planetary Nebulae with Wolf-rayet Nuclei Iii. Kinematical Analysis of a Large Sample of Nebulae

Expansion velocities (Vexp) of different ions and line widths at the base of the lines are measured and analyzed for 24 PNe with [WC]-type nuclei (WRPNe), 9 PNe ionized by WELS (WLPNe) and 14 ordinary PNe. A comparative study of the kinematical behavior of the sample clearly demonstrates that WRPNe have in average 40-45% larger Vexp, and possibly more turbulence than WLPNe and ordinary PNe. WLP...
